Watch the video reviewing letters and sounds above to refresh your child’s memory.
Revisit the words from yesterday’s learning and practise reading them. You could make flashcards and hide them around the house and play a game with them to make this more interesting, or you could challenge your child to see how many times they are able to read the words in two minutes.
Ask your child to spell the words to match the images on the sheet. These are the words from yesterday.
It is expected that your child will spell phonetically in ways which match their spoken sounds. They may not spell these words accurately in the traditional sense. Encourage them to sound out the words and ask them to consider whether there are any digraphs they are able to hear.
You could show them the sound mat for reference.
I am aware that not all of you will have a printing facility, so please feel free to allow your child to spell these words in any way you like – for example using a pencil and paper, paints, writing with fingers in shaving foam or sand, or even orally spelling them aloud.
