Encourage your child to stand up when they hear a word which rhymes with the given two words. Encourage them to sit down when it does not rhyme. Doing this will reinforce their understanding of what constitutes a rhyming pair.

Show your child the handout containing images of rhyming pairs from the story ‘The Snail and the Whale’. Challenge them to identify the pairs that rhyme. You could cut them up and make this a game, or you could do this orally if you do not have access to a printer etc. Completing this task will help prepare your child for tomorrow’s learning task!
