Show your child the video above.Challenge them to generate their own words that rhyme with those given in the video.
Using the image/sheet attached, encourage your child to create a sentence that uses a rhyming pair.
For example, ‘The snail sat on the whale.’
If you are able to, allow your child to write the sentence, encouraging them to sound out the words and spell them phonetically. Try to encourage them to begin their sentence with a capital letter, to use finger spaces between word and to end it using a full stop.Writing could take the form of pencil and paper, paints, crayons, chalks, finger writing in sand etc. dependent on what you have available.
