All 3D shapes have faces (for example, the square parts on a cube, or the circle at the end of a cone), vertices (pointed corners) and edges (ridges where the faces meet). Different shapes have different numbers of these features (e.g. a cube has six square faces, eight vertices and twelve edges, a sphere has zero vertices, one face, and no edges.)
