L.O: Identify and compare 3D shapes
Starter: Read through the PowerPoint to guess the 2D shapes.
We are now going to use our knowledge of 3D shapes and compare them. Choose two 3D shapes and compare their properties. For example:
Similarities: A square based pyramid and a triangular prism are both 3D shapes. They both have 5 faces and have triangular faces.
Differences: A square based pyramid has a square face but a triangular prism has rectangular faces. A square based pyramid has 5 vertices but a triangular prism has 6 vertices. A spare based pyramid has 8 edges but a triangular prism has 9 edges.
