HOMEWORK

English and Maths - 30 minutes per week.

Science and Humanities - times may vary.

Spellings are given on a Monday and children are tested on a Friday.

Reading at home - at least 3 times a week.

Children may be asked to read during school times if they have not read at home. Reading books will be checked and changed on Tuesdays and Fridays. 

Homework books will be out given on a Friday, to be returned the following Wednesday. Please ensure that homework is fully completed and handed in on time.

 PLANNERS/DIARIES

Children are expected to bring their planners into school every day.

TUCK SHOP

Toast will be on sale for 20p every Thursday.

Suitable clothing for P.E.:

Red t-shirt and black shorts.

Pumps

SCHOOL UNIFORM

Black/ grey school trousers, shorts or skirt.

White shirt/ blouse/ polo shirt.

Red jumper/ cardigan.

Plain black school shoes (no boots).

Plain white, grey, red, black socks (no patterns).

Optional

Red & white checked dress in the summer.

School fleece.

Jewellery and nail varnish are not allowed in school. Children may wear a watch and if they have pierced ears, they may wear small studs. Long hair must be tied up for safety reasons.  

How you can help?
-Reading with your child as often as possible. Recording this in your child’s planner each time they have read. Please note what page they have read up to and if they have finished the book.
-Discussing what they have read, asking them questions about what they have read and what they think might happen next, or why characters might say or do particular things.
-Sharing a range of other reading material, letting both your child read and you reading to them.
-Supporting your child with their weekly homework and encouraging them to hand it in on time. Encouraging them to use their neatest handwriting.
-Helping them to learn their weekly spellings.
-Playing number games and helping them to learn their times tables to improve mental maths skills.
-Coming in to discuss any queries or problems that may have arisen, after school as is necessary.
 

Merits

If your child has been awarded a Merit, it means that have produced some outstanding learning! Please sign the Merit slip and return it to school as soon as possible.
