Bonfire Night
Bonfire Night Learning
This week the Dragonfly class learned about The Gunpowder Plot and Guy Fawkes. We talked about why we celebrate Bonfire Night on the 5th of November and how people used to remember the event with fireworks and bonfires.
We then recreated our own Bonfire Night scenes using chalk on black paper. The children explored how to make different firework shapes and patterns, using bright colours to show the bursts and sparkles in the night sky.
During our discussions, we talked about the colours and noises we might see and hear on Bonfire Night — like bang, whizz, crackle, and pop! The children shared their own experiences of watching fireworks and learned about keeping safe during celebrations.
