VE Day Celebrations

To celebrate VE day, the children came to school dressed in red, white and blue, proudly representing the colours of the Union Jack. Throughout the day, the children took part in a range of engaging activities to help them understand the importance of VE day. 

Digital Literacy Enrichment Day

The children had a tech-tastic adventure throughout our Digital Literacy Enrichment Day. They explored far off places through the immersive VR headsets and used data loggers to collect real time information. They were truly engaged and enthusiastic about their learning throughout the whole of their day.

Year 1 trip to Yorkshire Sculpture Park

The children were excited to see the amazing outdoor sculptures at the Yorkshire Sculpture park. As well as discussing the sculptures in the park, the children were able to use their own creativity to make their own sculptures using natural materials.

The children in year 2 enjoyed discovering habitats outdoors at Castleshaw, from ponds to grasslands, and discovered which creatures call them home. 

The children enjoyed a sweet treat in the sunshine for our last themed tuck shop of the year!

Children's Mental Health Week

'Know Yourself, Grow Yourself' was the theme of children's Mental Health week this year. The children looked at different emotions, exploring what they look like on the outside and how they feel on the inside.

Chinese New Year

The children in our Early Years classes celebrated Chinese New Year. They tasted Chinese food, learnt about the story of the Great Race and performed a dragon dance!

Our School Councillors hosted a Valentine's Tuck Shop. All the children enjoyed a sweet treat!

World Book Day

Both children and adults enjoyed dressing up to celebrate World Book Day. The children enjoyed taking part in a variety of reading activities throughout the day.

Choral Speaking

Owls and Starlings class took part in Oldham's Choral Speaking event. Both classes performed with confidence and clarity.

The Great Big School Clean

The children took part in the Great Big School Clean. They discussed how to show pride in their community and care for their surroundings.

Careers and Aspirations Day

As part of our enrichment day, the children thought about their own aspirations and explored different careers. We had a variety of guests speaking to the children about their role, alongside a variety of activities throughout the day. 

The children enjoyed learning about the life cycle of the chick, and watching them hatch and grow.

Easter Tuck Shop

People Who Help Us

The children in Early Years had some very special visitors to help bring their learning to life. They learnt about how doctors and police can help us.

All the children took part in maths activities throughout the day. They were challenged to find the 'maths in real life.'

Halloween Disco and Tuck shop

The children enjoyed a spooky Halloween disco hosted by the PTA and some sweet treats at our Halloween themed tuck shop. 

Year 2 trip to George Street Chapel

The children in Year 2 enjoyed a trip to George Street Chapel, learning what life was like for a Victorian child. 

Food Bank collection

Our Planet Protectors and School Councillors have helped to organise and pack the food for our local food bank. Thank you to everyone who donated to such a worthy cause.

The children are able to bring in a book from home to swap. All the children love getting a new book!

EYFS Elmer Day

The children in our Early Years classes celebrated the own uniqueness during Elmer Day

Community bulb planting

Our School Council and Planet Protectors were joined by Councillor Jakeman to take part in a community bulb planting project. They planted daffodils opposite the school.
