Nursery Funding, Hours, Meals and Charges

We offer funded early education places for eligible 3–4 year olds in line with Department for Education Early Education and Childcare guidance. Funded hours are provided free of charge, and parents are not required to pay for additional hours or services in order to access their child’s funded entitlement.

Funded 30 Hours (No Charge)

Children who are eligible for 30 hours funded childcare may attend Nursery for their funded entitlement only:

• 9:00am – 3:00pm

• No charge

Parents may choose this option without any requirement to purchase additional hours or services.

School Dinners and the EYFS Curriculum

At Nursery, lunchtime is an important part of our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provision. Mealtimes support children’s learning and development by helping them to:

• develop independence and self-help skills

• make choices and try new foods

• experience a range of tastes and textures

• build social skills through shared routines

For this reason, we strongly encourage children who attend full days to stay for a school dinner as part of the Nursery experience.

• School dinner charge: £16 per week

• While school dinners form an important part of our EYFS curriculum, the charge for meals is not compulsory

• Parents who choose not to take up school dinners should discuss alternative arrangements with the school

Optional Paid Top-Up Hours (To Match the School Day)

Our Nursery day runs slightly beyond the 30 funded hours to align with the school day (32.5 hours per week). Parents may choose to purchase this additional time.

• Top-up charge for additional hours: £7.20 per week

• This charge is optional

• Parents who do not wish to pay this charge may still access the funded 30 hours at no cost

Parental Choice

Parents are free to choose:

• funded hours only (9:00am–3:00pm, no charge)

• funded hours plus optional top-up hours
